Inspired by the shapes, materiality and protective function of leather motorcycling gear. The entire object is made out of a single, gelatin-based material. Different densities create a spine of hard material that supports a soft, skinlike lampshade.
As a reference to the leather biker jackets, the material is dyed by combining the leather tanins with scrap metal to create a dark purple solution which darken the look of the lampshades.
